Question?

“They” got me.

I usually am really good at keeping my mind focused and on task when it comes to what I spend my time on, what I read, watch, and listen to. The recent happenings in Ferguson have effected me quite a bit. I mean think about it.

People shot and/or killed for doing things that most Americans do. Yes, things you do daily. Have you ever shopped at Walmart? Have you ever walked to the local corner store to buy something real quick. Not that Walmarts or corner stores across our nation will be effected by this but the chances are, I’ll be eliminating the very few reasons I’d have to go to either of these places.tumblr_na2l2tsf481thxv7eo1_1280

Car accident… knock on the nearest door to ask for help.
Corner store… who’s watching the neighborhood? Someone who wants to shoot someone.
Walmart… holding merchandise that they sell in the store.
Barbershop… broke up a fight.
Corner store… again… this time it’s the jakes.
Called 911 for assistance to stop a robbery… dispatched officers killed the guy who called them for help.
Went to Vegas…mistaken for a homeless drug addict, cuffed, then shot.
Answered the door holding a Wii remote controller… playing video games?
Getting fast food… don’t get out of your car.
How about, got kidnapped, escaped… shot while running from where they were held and tortured.

For the record, I don’t live any closer to the places where these lives were taken than you do and I do not know the REAL story behind what actually transpired. These have all taken place this year, 2014.

With that said, do you go to the store?
– or the Barbershop?
– Have you ever called 911 for help?
– Have you ever processed a welfare check?
– Do you want to go to Las Vegas?
– Do you play video games?
– Fast food?! (I don’t care for taco bell, but sh*t.)
– Ever been in a car accident?

A, supposed, unarmed person has been killed in each of these scenarios.

F*cking speechless…

Could have been you. Could have been me, or my son. Could have been one of my neighbors. Could have been your father or your mother. Who’s to say, next time… ?

This has all lowered my vibration quite a bit. And, I’m pretty sure it has lowered the vibration of quite a few others.

This is what “they” want.

They don’t want you to wake up from this horrible dream.

A lot of people throughout social media are asking, “What can I do about this?”

What can you do to change things?

What can you do to change the world?

First, change you. Be the best you, you can possibly be. Whatever that means for you, do it. No matter how long it takes, or how painful the transformation may be, you are charged with becoming the best version of yourself you can become. Do it now, ready or not.

Second, when you have the opportunity to be right or to be kind, be kind. You are not doing this for whoever you’re in front of (although they will think you are), do it for you. Small and consistent acts of kindness will raise your vibration, quickly and effectively while also raising the vibration of others around you.

Third, once you’re the best you can be (which hopefully means you’re working out regularly and eating a clean and substantial diet), you can fully detoxify yourself and maybe, just maybe, you’ll start to open up to the possibilities around you. The process of becoming the best you you possibly can be will open new doors of opportunity for you. Go through them and stack the odds unevenly in your favor. Do it. Enjoy it, while you can.

Conquer your fears. Do this or be held back by them for all of your days.

The time is over for coddling our children and those that are offended or afraid of the truth. You are they first person who needs to stop believing the lies.

The truth.

The truth is you are an infinite being manifested in the physical plane of this existence. 99% of the human being is completely unexplainable, unseeable, unsensable. You can’t touch it, or smell it. The other 1% is what you think you are. Become the whole you.

I’m not here to teach anybody anything, I’m only reminding you of what you already know. Now, right now, is the time to do something about it.

Don’t let them get you.

Choices & Choices

Every moment of every day, we are changing.

Right now, every cell in your body is going through a metamorphosis in which the new you is the end result.

You can do one of a variety things about this:

  1. completely ignore natural processes occurring within yourself and continue as you were
  2. observe what happens and play it safe with what you choose to be, have and do what you think you’re supposed to do
  3. take complete control and responsibility for what you choose to be, do, and have guiding your life in the direction of your specific design
  4. ?

Any one of these choices is usually a choice for life that people grow into and will stand and fight to the death for. The only thing anyone can do is make their choice and be a shining example of whatever it is one chooses to be. That is all we can do to help anyone, to guide our families and loved ones, to teach our friends and associates, to show our communities, to assist humanity. Doing this is something else… Nobody is perfect and most are battling with the best and worst of themselves all day long. Just know that the obstacles that may arise are not there to stop, they show up for you see how bad you want it. All you can do is all you can do.

But… you have to choose to.

You have to choose to shine. YOU have to choose to shine bright as a magnificent example of what you are. You are a star. Just like the stars we see shining in the night sky, we are going through a transition. The big secret everyone so inconveniently forgets to tell anyone is… you have to choose to shine your light.

Shine your light as bright as you can.

I get asked a lot, “what can I do about anything?” “What can I possibly do about all the crazy things going on in the world?” Its a loaded question, I know, but what do you do about it? The only thing you can do anything about is what you choose to be, do, and have. If you need an idea, here is where you can start…

Think.

ThinkPositive and negative thoughts are contagious.

We all affect the people around us in one way or another. This happens physically and subconsciously through our thoughts, feelings, and body language. People sense our energy, are affected by it, and vice versa.

Positive thoughts are the most important medicine one can take. Positive thoughts, words and attitudes bring out positive and happy moods and actions. When the mind is in a positive state, euphoric, creative, and loving chemicals are released into the blood creating more happiness and positivity. This the way of achievement, peace of mind and happiness.

Negative thoughts, words and attitudes, on the other hand, bring out negative and depressing moods and actions. When the mind is negative, poisonous emotional chemicals are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment.

One’s attitude and thought patterns don’t change overnight, some inner work is needed in order to turn the mind toward the positive. The power of thoughts is a universal power that is always shaping our lives. This shaping is usually done on the subconsciously level, but it is possible to make the process a conscious one. Practices you can adopt to facilitate a positive state of mind are:

  • read, think, or meditate about things that make you feel genuinely good, think about times in your life that were great and how those times made you feel
  • persuade yourself to persevere and continue to think, read, listen to, or watch positive messages for at least 30 minutes throughout the day
  • ignore what other people might say or think about you when they discover that you are changing the way you think
  • use imagination to visualize only favorable and beneficial situations
  • smile, even if you’re not happy – by smiling long enough, your brain will release a combination of “happy” chemicals educing a state of calmness and euphoria
  • once a negative thought enters your mind, you have to be aware of it, and endeavor to replace it with a constructive one – the negative thought will try again to enter your mind, and then, you have to replace it again with a positive one

At any given moment, there will be things that are desirable to focus on and things that are less enjoyable to focus on. We must choose to focus on that which promotes joy. Think of it like there are two pictures in front of you, and you can to choose to look at one of them, and disregard the other. Persistence will eventually teach your mind to think positively, and to ignore negative thoughts. In case you feel inner resistance and difficulties when replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, do not give up, but keep looking only at the beneficial, good and happy thoughts in your mind.

It doesn’t matter what your circumstances are at the present moment. Think positively, expect only favorable results and situations, and circumstances will change accordingly. You can transform the way your mind thinks the thoughts it creates. It will take some time for the changes to take place, but with focus and determination, they will.

But… you have to choose to.

People worldwide are getting more and more particular about what they’re eating because we are all starting to feel the effects of chemical laden, super processed, corn fed, and genetically modified foods that were staples of daily life for years. When you don’t feel good or even worse when you actually become sick because of the food being eaten on a daily basis, it is easy to start asking questions. But until then, it takes blind faith and determination to continue to eat actual food. Why does this matter?

What you eat determines what fuel your body has to create all these emotional chemicals and reactions that we went over above. If you’re full of artificial and acidic things and your mind is full negativity, your body will not be able to heal and maintain balance the way it was designed to.

A lot of people are finding out that the best foods they can eat are grown locally, grown organically, and sold in a reasonable manor to those that actually desire whole, healthy food. These foods are available in specialized shops and farmers markets, along with the big name grocers that span every corner in most communities in North America.

Get what you need however and wherever you can. If you truly desire to be healthy and think healthy, than you’ll find what you need. If you have a burning desire to eat food that is actually good for you, than you will spend your money on food that will help you reach your health goals. Those that create, find, or accept excuses as to why they think they can’t get healthy, won’t. The simple fact of the matter is, if you want to eat food that will fuel your life and help keep in a positive state, you can do just that.

But… you have to choose to.

The very best source of whole, organic foods is your very own garden! If you accept reasons why you can’t grow your own food, than that is of coarse your choice. If you are determined to grow your food, then every inch of free space and soil is up for grabs.

Think positive, eat actual food, and spend time meditating. These are key building blocks to staying in a positive and productive. There are plenty of other things you can do to keep yourself in an optimal state but this is a great start. Need help meditating? Watch the video below –

What is Diatomaceous Earth?

The uses and healthy effects of Diatomaceous Earth in powder form (or DE) reaches back more than 5,000 years to ancient China where it became part of traditional Chinese Medicine. Some use it as an additive to stored grain to keep it bug free and to stretch flour stores while other health-conscious individuals use it as an alternative to commonly used chemicals to grow and strengthen the hair, develop elasticity in the skin, harden the bones, and promote general well-being. In an Australian study, DE was found to lower blood cholesterol in humans. It is also an excellent source of plant derived silica. Adding diatomaceous earth to your diet can rid the body of parasites that can contribute to food intolerance, nausea, bowel discomfort, pain, itching, asthma, sinus infections, Morgellon’s disease, and a host of other allergic-type reactions. Initially, you may experience a Herxhemier reaction (The Jarisch-Herxheimer Reaction is a reaction to endotoxins released by the death of harmful organisms within the body), which can cause abdominal discomfort and flu-like symptoms. There can be health problems associated with evacuating too many parasites too quickly from your body.

Dissolve less than one teaspoon for every 100 pounds you weigh in a glass of pure water of about 8 – 10 fluid ounces and take it once a day. Other liquids can be used but don’t mix DE with citrus liquids insuring you avoid a gut reaction. Stir constantly as you drink, it as the substance does not dissolve easily. Drink plenty of pure water, juices and herbal teas throughout the day to help aid the detox process. When mixing your D.E., remember it is texture and weight, more than taste, that will pose the challenge to create a smooth mixture. D.E.’s taste is virtually undetectable, extremely bland, sometimes described as chalky. It is easy to whisk a teaspoon to a tablespoon into a small glass of water and chug it down. Expect a clay-like texture that varies in consistency depending on the amount of water you use. Try adding it to a blended drink. D.E. is similar in weight to protein powder and will mix easily into your blended concoction. Diatomaceous earth can be used in conjunction with other parasite cleanse products or on its own to maintain your system’s health.

Increase the dosage of food-grade Diatomaceous Earth over a number of weeks until you gradually reach two tablespoons per day. This will

help prevent a reaction referred to as “healing crisis,” which can happen during the detox process as the body tries to get rid of toxins at a rate too fast to dispose of them.


Other Uses –
You may feel worse initially as you start the process, but that’s just a sign that the detox is working.

Household Pesticide
• Fill a gallon-sized plastic bag with food-grade diatomaceous earth. Close the bag and ensure that it is completely sealed. Pinch a corner of the bag and turn it upside down. Snip that end with a pair of scissors. Only cut off 1/6 to 1/8 of an inch to create a small hole.
• Turn the bag over and pour the diatomaceous earth out in a long line along the areas of your to be treated. Use along baseboards, along the backs of cupboards, behind the refrigerator, on windowsills and in any nooks or spaces where you have a pest problem. Diatomaceous earth is effective against household insects and bugs (cockroaches, ants, silverfish, etc.) but will not work on mice and rats. Wear protective eye goggles and a face mask while handling diatomaceous earth to avoid getting it in your eyes and lungs.
• Sprinkle diatomaceous earth on your carpets to kill fleas and ticks. Allow it to sit in the carpet for at least 24 to 48 hours in order to expose all pests to it and then vacuum it up with an ordinary vacuum cleaner.
• Dust diatomaceous earth on houseplants, around their pots and on top of the potted soil to control pests, such as spiders, aphids and ants.

In the Garden
• Create a 2- to 3 3/4-inch (about 5 cm to 7 cm) wide swath of food-grade diatomaceous earth around garden plants by using the baggie method to create a slug guard.
• Dust garden plants with diatomaceous earth after it has rained. Diatomaceous earth will not adhere to plants well unless they are slightly moist. You can spray your plants with a mister and then dust, or you can add diatomaceous earth to your sprayer and mix with water. This works well on pond plants and makes application simple. The diatomaceous earth will need to be reapplied after it rains. Minimize the destruction of beneficial insects by applying diatomaceous earth in the late afternoon or early evening when insect activity is lowest. Do not apply it excessively.
• Mix one part diatomaceous earth to five parts water with a few drops of dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray this mixture on the trunks of trees to kill off borers and bark-desiccating bugs.

Pet Care
• Mix 1/2 tsp. food-grade diatomaceous earth with your pets’ food (for smaller animals) and 1 tsp. for larger animals, once a day. Diatomaceous earth is believed to help control internal parasites, such as worms. Some pet foods already have diatomaceous earth mixed into them.
• Fill a salt shaker or flour duster with food-grade diatomaceous earth. Ensure that the ports are open so that it can flow freely.
• Dust your pets’ fur with diatomaceous earth, and rub it in to kill fleas and ticks. Avoid dusting in your pets’ eyes and face. One dusting should be enough to treat a short-haired animal, but a second dusting might be required for a pet with longer fur. Wash, dry and comb your pet prior to dusting. Keep your pet calm and on a leash for a few hours before allowing it to resume normal activity. Do not wash your pet for at least a week after an application.
• Apply diatomaceous earth to your pets’ bedding on both sides and around any of the areas where the pet may roam or rest. You can apply it to outside pens, if desired. Be careful not to expose beneficial insects to diatomaceous earth or they will be killed along with undesired pests.
• Diatomaceous earth for pond fish. Apply one cup per hundred gallons of water. This will help prevent parasite infestations of your fish. However it will also kill dragonfly larvae and other underwater insect pond life that you might want to keep.

Pineal Gland?

The pineal gland or the pineal body, epiphysis cerebri, epiphysis or the third eye, is a small endocrine gland in the brain. Thoughts become things.

Alter the MindRealization of this fact can have monumental effects on life as we know it. The choice to think specific thoughts from moment to moment is one that can sculpt a design for the life one wants.

The secret is hidden within the mind. Whispering in your ear, remarking at whatever happens throughout the day, always something to say…

….but is it you?

Is the voice in your head speaking words of your own? Are you sure? If the words you hear in your head are not your own… then who’s words are they? For people all over the world, these questions are a source of madness that gets in the way of enjoying the process of living life. People seem to loose sight of the fact that of all the things that we try to control throughout our lives, the only thing we truly have control over is our thoughts.

But, we have to choose to do so.

We have to choose the words in our heads with intention. To do this, it helps if one has an intention to begin with. Pick one. Really. Anything! It’s okay. The only rules in this game are the ones we put in place around ourselves. In the game of life, the life that we experience is a direct result of what we have chosen to do, say, and think for every moment we have lived up until the point we are experiencing right now. It is no coincidence you are reading this right now. These words are here to assist and facilitate processes that need to take place within the mind to realize that everything that happens starts with what we think.It can be as simple or profound as you’d like. The more profound the statements made in the mind or in spoken word, the more of a lasting impression that is made on the mind. Impressions are made in the form of emotional chemical imprints. These emotional imprints, imprints left in the subconscious by the chemical emotions that are released at any given moment, emotional memories, can leave fragments behind that are very easily forgotten or pushed away to create behavior patterns that effect how we interact with the Universe and everything in it on a daily basis.When we choose the thoughts and consciously guide the emotional imprints we make on ourselves, we are directly effecting our behavior patterns and the impression we leave on the world. To think about something that makes you smile or leaves you with a feeling of gratitude or reverence is to kick start your mind into a state in which anything is possible.

  • the circulatory level, the constant stream of blood flow and filtration throughout the body
  • the energy or chi level, energy flow and circulation throughout the body
  • the cellular level, the creation, activity, and duplication of the cells a body is made of
  • the elemental level, the level at which all the elements that are in the Universe can be found within the body
  • the atomic level, units of light that are composed of neutral, positive, and negative energy

The thoughts that come in and out of our heads are no different. As messages of light, our thoughts flow through the brain and effect every part of our being. As we think and experience life, different chemical elements are released in the brain. These chemical elements are released in combinations to tell us how we feel at any particular moment. The more powerful or profound the experience, the more of a mark the chemicals leave. This chemical mark is an emotional imprint. These emotional imprints can become blessings when we choose and direct them with crystal clear intention. On the flip side, emotional imprints can affect our lives and the lives of those that are around us in undesirable ways if we allow ourselves to react to whatever happens instead of maintaining our will over ourselves and our thoughts by choosing how we respond.

With understanding of what a thought is and how they generally work, you can begin to direct your thoughts to give instructions to your subconscious. Sending instructions to the subconscious can be simple enough if one takes the time to make a clear intention known to the Universe. Once written out, our ideas and thoughts have a spark of life about them. Once these thoughts, goals, or ideas are out of our heads, we can dedicate ourselves to creating the desired results. This can be achieved through various means but one method that has spawned amazing results for countless people that have put it to use is a simple written exercise. This written exercise should be done in a comfortable and quiet place where there are no distractions and little to no chance of being interrupted.

The Creation Exercise:

  1. Hold in your mind precisely what you want. Be specific, detailed, and definite.
  2. Decide what you are going to trade for what you want. Everything has a price.
  3. Pick a date by when you intend to have what you want.
  4. Lay out a plan of action for making your desire happen and then begin immediately to carry out that plan.
  5. Draft and perfect a clear, detailed statement explaining what you want, the time limit for its achievement, what you intend to give in return for receiving what you want, your detailed and definite plan for through which you are going to make it happen.
  6. Read your written or typed statement out loud, at least twice a day, the first time should be when you first awaken in the morning and the last should be right before you fall asleep for the night.
  7. As you read the statement you drafted aloud throughout the day, see, feel, and think yourself already in possession of what you want. Go past belief and know that it is yours already.

This is an interpretation of a method for directing instruction to the subconscious and by doing so, laying the foundation for creating the results you want out of life. This formula can be applied to anything that is desired on any level of existence. The fact of the matter is, you can carve out the life you want to live and be, do, and have whatever it is that you truly desire.

You just have to choose to.

If you’re like most Americans you probably don’t get eight hours sleep each night.

But, if you also constantly feel exhausted, experience headaches for no obvious reason or have high blood pressure, you could have a more serious problem.

That’s because these can all be the result of snoring—which is, in turn, the most common symptom of a potentially serious health problem—obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

While most people think of snoring as a minor annoyance, research shows it can be hazardous to your health.  That’s because for over 18 million Americans it’s related to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). People who suffer from OSA repeatedly and unknowingly stop breathing during the night due to a complete or partial obstruction of their airway.  It occurs when the jaw, throat, and tongue muscles relax, blocking the airway used to breathe.  The resulting lack of oxygen can last for a minute or longer, and occur hundreds of times each night.

Thankfully, most people wake when a complete or partial obstruction occurs, but it can leave you feeling completely exhausted.  OSA has also been linked to a host of health problems including:

  • Acid reflux
  • Frequent nighttime urination
  • Memory loss
  • Stroke
  • Depression
  • Diabetes
  • Heart attack

People over 35 are at higher risk.

OSA can be expensive to diagnosis and treat, and is not always covered by insurance.  A sleep clinic will require an overnight visit (up to $5,000).  Doctors then analyze the data and prescribe one of several treatments.  These may require you to wear uncomfortable CPAP devices that force air through your nose and mouth while you sleep to keep your airways open, and may even include painful surgery.

If you sleep next to someone that snores because of OSA, there are options for you and your partner.

Tighten your Zzoma
This belt-like device is worn around the chest area during sleep; its firm foam material gently forces you to slumber on your side, which helps prevent snoring. “Most people snore on their back, and 30 to 40 percent of the general population snores on a regular basis,” says Samuel Krachman, M.D., professor of medicine and director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Temple University. His research shows that the Zzoma reduces episodes of abnormal breathing due to positional sleep apnea (which occurs when you temporarily stop breathing while sleeping on your back). Untreated, sleep apnea is a risk factor for high blood pressure, coronary disease and heart failure.
Play the didgeridoo
A study from the University of Zurich showed that regularly playing this Aboriginal wind instrument reduced daytime sleepiness and nighttime snoring in people with moderate sleep apnea. “The effects of the didgeridoo are similar to singing,” says Joanne Getsy, M.D., medical director of the Drexel Sleep Center in Philadelphia. “Playing it strengthens the upper airway muscles that dilate the airway and reduces the chance that the airway tissue will become floppy during the night, which causes snoring.” Dr. Getsy says tuba, trumpet and clarinet players have a similar advantage—though research in this area is minimal.
Exercise your tongue
“Certain exercises strengthen the tongue, reshaping it to fit better in the oral cavity and training it to ‘live’ on the roof of the mouth, so it doesn’t fall and block the airway,” says Janet Bennett, M.Ed, creator of the IJustWantToSleep program. She explains that making a sound of “t-t-t-t-t” (like you’re scolding someone) strengthens the tip of the tongue. To exercise the sides, do the “tense and relax”: Let your tongue hang out, relaxed—then tense it by pointing and holding for three seconds. Repeat.
Bite down on a mouthpiece
“Boil-and-bite anti-snoring dental devices” can be effective, says Steven Y. Park, M.D., clinical assistant professor of otolaryngology at the New York Medical College and author of Sleep, Interrupted (Jodev Press, 2008). “These devices mold to your upper and lower teeth, and pull your lower jaw and the back of your tongue forward. This opens your airway, allowing you to breathe better.” Dr. Park adds that mouthpieces prevent tongue collapse in deep sleep, and can also be effective in promoting sound sleep for non-snorers.
Wear an air mask
A Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) mask is commonly used for moderate to severe sleep apnea. They connect to a pump that pushes air into the nasal passages and throat, keeping airways open. However, not everyone can tolerate wearing a mask over their nose and face overnight. Dr. Krachman of Temple University says the CPAP is very effective, but only used correctly 50 percent of the time. Users, heed your sleep specialist’s instructions! Shannah Godfrey, 46, of Independence, Mo., says, “I can’t stand not to use my CPAP. I don’t get as many sinus, ear, or throat infections now. My chronic sinusitis is gone and my colds last only half as long.”
Chin Strap
A recent case study published by Eastern Virginia Medical School’s Division of Sleep Medicine in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine concludes that wearing a simple chinstrap while you sleep can be an effective treatment for OSA.

The chin strap, which is now available from a company called MySnoringSolution, works by supporting the lower jaw and tongue, preventing obstruction of the airway.  It’s made from a high-tech, lightweight, and super-comfortable material.  Many people have used a chinstrap to help relieve their snoring symptoms, and they report better sleeping, and better health overall because of it.

Accupuncture 
Snoring can be caused by obstructed nasal passages or allergies,and it’s important to find a remedy that treats the underlying cause. According to Terry Courtney, L.Ac., dean of the School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Bastyr University outside Seattle, “Oftentimes with a structural problem, the local tissue is irritated or inflamed. Acupuncture can address this condition by reducing the local inflammation and helping to clear passageways.”
While Courtney says a severe structural problem like a deviated septum would need to be addressed by a physician, “People with sinusitis often benefit from treatment with Chinese medicine. Sometimes it only takes a handful of treatments; often people benefit from more frequent treatment during peak allergy seasons. Depending on the practitioner’s training, sometimes acupuncture is used [alone] and or in combination with Chinese herbs to address this condition.” And the snorer—along with his or her partner—may therefore rest longer in the land of nod.
Alignment Pillow
Then there are types of special pillows which help you prevent snoring by changing your sleeping position from a back sleeper or a stomach sleeper to a side sleeper. The reason behind this is because there is much more snoring occurring in the back and stomach sleeping positions compared to the side sleeper position and these pillows, which tend to be much more bulky will create a physical, but comfortable, obstacle so that the person can not rotate or shift around the bed and remains to sleep on the side with as perfect alignment of the head, neck and spine as possible and as little pressure on the windpipe as it can be made.
Regular Exercise
Getting and staying fit is very important. For your general and over all well being, not to mention your loved ones who want you stick around for a while. You can do as or as little exercise as you like honestly but it starts with what you’re eating. When you’re doing as much as you physically can muster along with eating in a way that your body can heal itself from the inside out, you will see results and create a better life for yourself at the same time.

it is time seek serious medical attention. Not because you snore but because you’re partner punched you in the throat to stop you from snoring. If every sound that could possibly be heard sounds like it’s happening right next to your skull or your other half can’t keep a sock in it, try ear plugs. They gotta be good ones to, like shotgun ear plugs. It’s kinda weird honestly, when I put ear plugs in, within 2 minutes, I’m knocked out. I tell my lady, “I’m going in.” She knows that means stop talking, let me sleep, and snore away.

Gratitude

It is enough that a human being is alive!”, a wise man once cried.

There is a story — maybe an urban legend, but full of truth nonetheless —

One evening, A famous violinist was in New York to play a concert. As a child, the violinist had been stricken with polio and getting on stage is no small feat for him. He wears braces on both legs and walks with two crutches. He crossed the stage painfully slowly, until he reached the chair in which he seated himself to play.

As soon as the already tired musician appeared on stage that night, the audience applauded and then waited respectfully as he made his way slowly across the stage. He took his seat, signaled to the conductor, and began to play.

No sooner had he finished the first few bars than one of the strings on his violin snapped like a gunshot. At that point it was still close enough to the beginning of the piece that it would have been reasonable to bring  the concert to a halt while he replaced the string to begin again. But that’s not what he did. He waited a moment and then signaled the conductor to pick up just where they had left off.

He now had only three strings with which to play his soloist part. He was able to find some of the missing notes on adjoining strings, but where that wasn’t possible, he had to rearrange the music on the spot in his head so that it all still held together.

He played with passion and artistry, spontaneously rearranging the symphony right through to the end. When he finally rested his bow, the audience sat for a moment in stunned silence. And then they rose to their feet and cheered wildly. They knew they had been witness to an extraordinary display of human skill and ingenuity.

After the standing ovation, the man signaled for quiet. “You know,” he said, “sometimes it is the artist’s task to find out how much beautiful music you can still make with what you have left.

We have to wonder, was he speaking of his violin strings or his crippled body? And is it true only for artists? We are all lacking something, and so we are all challenged to answer the question:

Do we have the attitude of making something of beauty out of what we do have, incomplete as it may be?

If you’ve lost your job, but you still have your family and health, you have something to be grateful for.

If you can’t move around except in a wheelchair but your mind is as sharp as ever, you have something to be grateful for.

When you open up to gratitude, you see clearly and accurately how much good there is in your life. Gratitude affirms. Those things you are lacking are still there, and in reaching for gratitude no one is saying you ought to put on rose-colored glasses to obscure those shortcomings. But most of us tend to focus so heavily on the negative in our lives that we barely perceive the good that counterbalances them.

There is no limit to what we don’t have and if that is where we put our focus, then our lives will inevitably be filled with endless dissatisfaction. When you live charged with gratitude, you will give thanks for anything or anyone who has benefited you, whether they meant to or not. Say, “Thank You!” when the driver in the car next to you lets you merge without protest, or when the water flows from the tap, or the food is exceptable?

When gratitude is this well established, it is a sign of a heart that has been made right and whole. Gratitude can’t coexist with arrogance, resentment, and selfishness. So be grateful for everything you have, everything from your next breath to the sun, clouds, rain and stars. Just be grateful. When, and only when, we are grateful for each and everything that we have, the universe will give you exactly what you need.

Why Men Aren’t Really Men Anymore

Paul Hudson recently shared Why Men Aren’t Really Men Anymore on Elite Daily.

The question, “Why aren’t Men Really Men Anymore?” is very simply answered. “Real” men are trained by real fathers. We are 6 – 7 generations deep into fatherless children, men & women. That means, there is no example around for a young man to see how to treat a woman that he has feelings for or any other woman for that matter. Just the same, there are no “Ladies” around to show young women how to act around a “Real” man. 

So that leaves us with, like the Paul said above, toddler minded boys in adult bodies trying to re-enact porn scenes with toddler minded girls in adult bodies that have never seen how a “Real” woman or a “Real” man is supposed to be. Toddler boys looking for new mommies and toddler girls looking for new daddies. 

As a new father that grew up without one, I’ve had to take it upon myself to learn how to treat my “Lady” (and she actually is one who has helped bring my first born into this world), how to respectfully communicate with men and women alike, how to treat myself and how to be father without ever having seen what one was supposed to be like. Anyone that grew up without a dad has certain mental conditioning (or lack there of) that makes it harder to know what we’re supposed to do. Situations arise with my son that I feel I just don’t know what to do about, while other situations happen with him that make me feel like I’ve know what to do all along. 

Like a computer, software that isn’t installed isn’t there at the moment it is needed. Unless toddlers in grown up bodies take it upon themselves to download and install and update necessary applications (like for example; the difference between f*cking just to get a nut off and sharing a sexually emotional relationship with the woman of your dreams {if you think you can have sex without leaving an emotional imprint within all involved parties, it’s time for a system update}, how to tell the difference between a woman and a girl regardless of age, how to raise a young man or a young woman, how to treat your partner in front of your children and other to set the best example for yourself, your lover, your family, the people around you, and the world at large, how to move with kindness and chivalry {if you don’t know what the word “chivalry” actually means, you better google it – I’m talking to both males and females here} while still being manly and true to yourself, how to calm your mind and take care of your body while motivating others to do the same, how and what to eat to maintain basic levels of health as opposed to mediocre survival [which is what most genetically modified humans do these days], or how to love yourself, this list can go on further but I think if you’re reading this still you’ve gotten the point by now), the generations to come will end up looking like “Wall-E” – oversized garbage dumps with google vision goggles attached to our faces who can’t even see the magnificent and limitless world before our eyes. 

A side note, if you are guy that has been watching porn for more than five years, your mind is officially f*cked and it’s time to go get some p*ssy other than your hand. Every nut that gets unloaded should be planting a seed, going down the hatched, or getting rubbed into the skin of a woman you actually care about.

6 Myths of Eating Raw

Myth #1: You need to eat 100% raw foods and nothing else in order to get the benefits of the raw food diet.

For most people who are eating a diet high in processed and fast foods, any increase in fresh, raw, and organic foods is beneficial. Simple changes such as eating fruit for breakfast instead of pancakes or sausage will improve your health exponentially. Eating a salad for lunch will give you more energy than a hamburger, soda and fries. In order to get all of the benefits of the raw lifestyle, you do need to eat mostly raw foods, about 90-95% of your food intake. A happy medium that a lot of people adopt is the 80-20 Lifestyle. Eating 80% plant based, raw, organic foods and no more than 20% cooked meals including animal based and cooked foods if you like.

Myth #2: Everything you eat on the raw foods diet will be cold.

As long as the internal temperature of the food is 104 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, it still has vital living nutrients and sustenance. Anything over this temperature, you might as well just cook it. This means that dehydrating foods at temperatures below 104 and warming soups up on a coffee warming plate are still acceptable practices.

Myth #3: The raw food diet consists of only raw fruits and vegetables.

A raw food diet consists of fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, nut “milks”, sprouted grains, seaweeds and juices are all included on a raw diet, as well as some fermented and processed foods such as raw soy sauce, kimchee, miso, raw nut butters and cold pressed raw oils.

Myth #4: The raw food diet is more expensive than other diets.

Any diet can be more or less expensive, depending on your tastes. Certain pre-made raw items can be rather expensive, but some of the best deals will be found in the produce section of your grocery store. Apples, bananas, salad greens and many vegetables are all a bargain compared to steak and lobster.

Myth #5: You will have to eat all your meals at home when on the raw food diet.

More and more raw food restaurants are popping up around the country! Most big cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago and New York have one or even more raw food restaurants, and many vegetarian and vegan restaurants also cater to the raw crowd. Salads and fruit smoothies can be found many places – just bring your own raw dressing, or ask for oil and vinegar.

Myth #6: You will spend all your time in the kitchen chopping vegetables and dehydrating foods for hours on end.

Well, you could. But who wants to do that? Salads, smoothies and many raw soups are quick to prepare. Realizing that many people get frustrated with complex recipes, I’ve selected and created the raw food recipes on this site precisely because they don’t require fancy and expensive equipment and hours of preparation time. That being said, investing in a food processor will save you many hours of chopping and grating. If you’re serious about raw foods, I recommend you at least invest in a blender and a food processor. You may find that eventually you will want to purchase a dehydrator and a juicer as well.
