Meditation has been spoken of, written of and practiced throughout the Universe since the beginning of time. A lot of people, nowadays, seem to think that there some secret to meditation that has just eluded them because they can’t quite get into a state that they are comfortable with. I think its a lot simpler than most think.Meditate

  1. Sit still comfortably.
  2. Close your eyes.
  3. Breathe.
  4. Remain still.
  5. Stop inner or outer conversation.
  6. Observe the breath.
  7. Let go.
  8. If thoughts protrude, classify them quickly as external or internal distractions. Let them go.
  9. Breathe.

I know, I know.

That’s it.

When we can let go of this grand idea of what things are supposed to be and just do what we focus on, it will be easy to see that it really is that easy to meditate. Sit still. Shut up. And breathe. It is recommended to meditate for at least one minute for every year old you are. So if you are 30 years old, you should meditate for 30 minutes. Although that is what is recommended, even if you only still your mind and body for few minutes sometime throughout the day, that is better than the former.
